WAM is all about creating an art experience that sparks discovery, critical thinking and transformation. Over 20,000 people walk by the museum everyday yet very few go in. While it is right in the middle of a busy campus, not many students know that the building is even an art museum. The directors at the Weisman Art Museum wanted an app that can be used both inside and outside of the museum, but not used as a replacement for actually visiting. They wanted it to remove some of the mystery of the building and create a platform for students to interact with the art in a way they wouldn't be able to in the physical space of a museum.
Along with WAM staff and students from the School of Journalism, I conceptualized and designed the WAM App. The directors at WAM were very impressed by the final prototype. Hopefully it will be developed in the future if the Weisman can raise the funds.
